Mr. Kwok co-founded Savantas Policy Institute in Hong Kong in 2006 to promote Hong Kong’s transformation into a knowledge-based society with close collaborations with Mainland cities under the one-country-two-systems framework. Mr. Kwok has been serving on its board of governors, studying the ecosystem-building issues to facilitate and sustain the transformation and collaboration efforts. Ecosystem building for long-term sustainable developments is his core interest.
Mr. Kwok joined CASPA since 1995, served as a Board Director from 1997 to 2004 and its Chief Financial Office from 1998 to 2004, and has been serving as the President of its PRD (Pearl River Delta) Chapter since 2003, facilitating networking and business developments between the PRD region and other CASPA membership territories as well as between China IC trade associations and mainstream US trade associations.
Mr. Kwok has been working in the semiconductor industry since 1979, with extensive trend-setting and start-up experiences (at IDT, Quality Semiconductor, PMC-Flash and NetLogic Microsystems), covering business developments, cutting-edge technology developments and applications, IP portfolio developments and licensing, manufacturing operations, as well as product developments and product engineering. As a trailblazer, Mr. Kwok has been leading the major paradigm shifts in semiconductor business: from NMOS to CMOS, IDM to fabless design house and outsourcing, IP creation and sourcing, as well as standardization efforts and market developments for emerging applications.
He has a BSES and a MSEE from the University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin).
